Prices are apparently also rising in Italy. According to a consumer forecast, holidaymakers on the beaches are threatened with a price shock.

Rome - Finally, the good weather has reached Germany. Nevertheless, right now, at Pentecost, a holiday abroad is on the agenda for many Germans. For most others, the holiday is at least getting closer. If you continue to focus on Italy, a country of longing for 2023, you could be in for a nasty surprise.

In any case, Italy is currently hit hard by the devastating storms. The Adriatic region around Rimini has been badly hit - many villages have been flooded. Nevertheless, they have now given the green light for most of the beaches and hope for a good tourism season.

But holidaymakers are apparently also threatened with a price shock at the gelaterias, as well as the beaches in Italy. Prices could generally rise by up to 20 percent compared to the previous year - according to the experts' forecast, according to a report by Repubblica. The Codacons, another consumer society, estimates somewhat more conservatively, with increases of between ten and 15 percent.

According to the analysis of the "Osservatorio nazionale di Federconsumatori" for the Pentecost weekend, the prices for beach loungers in particular have risen. The association reports 42 percent more. Instead of six euros, you now pay just under 8.50 euros, the Repubblica calculates. The price of the parasol will increase by an additional 16 percent.

Holidaymakers should also be aware of the laws in Italy. Some crazy rules actually threaten high fines.
