River Plate and the Football Security Committee, jointly, released this Saturday afternoon an official statement in which they explain what were the circumstances in which a supporter of the Núñez club fell from the Sívori high stand and died on the spot during the match played by the local team and Defensa y Justicia, by the Professional League. The match was suspended 26 minutes into the first half.
According to the official version, the supporter, who had his subscription Tu Lugar en el Monumental, "jumped into the void from the Sívori Alta tribune and died on the spot." He added: "At the time of the fall there was no intervention by third parties. It was also found that there was no situation of violence in or around the rostrum."
The investigation into the death of the fan, about 53 years old and a native of the Buenos Aires town of Morón, fell to the Fiscal Unit Specialized in Mass Events of the City of Buenos Aires, in charge of Celsa Ramírez, who "proceeded to close the stand for 24 hours to obtain evidence."

The Football Security Committee and Club Atlético River Plate regret to report that, in this afternoon's match against Defensa y Justicia, a supporter jumped into the void from the Sívori Alta stand and died on the spot. The medical service arrived instantly at the scene of the incident, as did the police and the various security agencies.
The Sivori Alta grandstand, where the deceased had his season ticket, was at 90% capacity. At the time of the fall there was no intervention of third parties. It was also noted that there was no situation of violence in or around the gallery. Within 30 minutes, the stadium was completely evacuated.
The security agencies and the Specialized Fiscal Unit in Mass Events, in charge of Dr. Celsa Ramírez, are acting and carrying out the pertinent investigations.
On the instruction of the prosecutor, the gallery was closed for 24 hours to obtain evidence.
