A 21-year-old man from I'blin was shot and killed earlier Sunday in the community. The young man, who was very seriously wounded, was first evacuated to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, where doctors were forced to pronounce him dead. The police opened an investigation into the incident and began searching the area of the shooting for suspects. The police said that for the time being, the background to the incident is an ongoing conflict between criminals.
A spokesperson for Rambam Hospital said that after the announcement of the young man's death, his family members began rioting at the hospital, claiming that "the deceased's family members broke glass and the police and security personnel had to intervene to impose order in the place. As a result of the broken glass, two members of the family were lightly injured and they were treated with cuts that caused themselves in the ER." It was also reported that after the riots, one suspect was arrested and taken to the city's police station.

About two hours later, a 40-year-old man was shot dead in Qalansawe. MDA medics and paramedics who arrived at the scene identified the man with no signs of life and pronounced him dead.
According to the Abraham Initiatives, the man is the 90th Arab murdered this year. 78 of the victims were shot to death. By comparison, in the same period last year, according to the association, there were 33 victims. Last week, a man in his 30s from um al-Fahm was shot dead on one of the city's main streets, on the eve of the city's funeral for another man who was murdered that week.
