A tragic accident occurred on Sunday on a motorway in Italy, a coach crashed. One person died on the spot, numerous people were injured.
Vallesaccarda – Early Sunday morning, June 4, a serious road accident occurred near the southern Italian city of Naples. Involved in the accident was a coach with 38 passengers, as well as five other cars. As the dpa reports, citing the Italian fire brigade, there is said to be one dead and 14 injured. The accident occurred on the A16 motorway in the direction of Naples.
Just recently, a similar accident had occurred in Italy. On the Italian Amalfi Coast, a coach had strayed off the road and plunged several meters into the depths. The driver was killed, passengers were not on board.
Coach crashes in southern Italy: One dead, several injured – first details known
During the rescue work, the fire brigade recovered the lifeless body of a man. The dead man is one of the drivers. According to the initial findings, an accident occurred between three vehicles. The bus then crashed into one of the cars, overturned, and eventually slid down an embankment. However, the exact course of the accident at the height of the municipality of Vallesaccarda in the province of Avellino is still being investigated.
Italy: Coach crashed on the way to Rome – injured taken to hospitals
A crane truck from the fire brigade lifted the bus to check whether other people were affected. The injured who were able to be freed from the bus were taken to nearby hospitals. According to Italian media reports, the bus belonged to the fleet of a large long-distance bus company and drove from the Apulian city of Lecce in the direction of Rome.
