Wado de Pedro avoided answering Anibal Fernández: "I'm going to turn the other cheek"

The Minister of the Interior and possible pre-candidate of the Frente de Todos, Eduardo 'Wado' de Pedro, avoided answering the chicanes of Anibal Fernández about his lack of experience to govern, and assured that he has to "turn the other cheek."

"If in our front we have a PASO, I know that Aníbal, (Luis) D'Elía and some others are going to be spokesmen to go against it. But as Néstor Kirchner said, "I'm going to turn the other cheek," dodged the Mercedino.

"I will try to unite and expand Peronism. In addition to who we are, we have to add new leaders and productive sectors, industrialists, social organizations, churches, all those who understand what another government like Macri's would be but faster and stronger," he added.

"This wait for the definition of candidates of the front, this call from Cristina to take the marshal's baton, I am one of those who said 'I am going to do what needs to be done, I am going to walk and walk'... We are working on the program and then when the time comes for definition, see it. But I'm going to do everything," the interior minister acknowledged at C5N.

Tension in Together for Change: now they discuss whether or not to add Juan Schiaretti

The governor of Córdoba and presidential candidate, Juan Schiaretti, met with Roberto Lavagna.

A new discussion broke out in Together for Change that puts the space in check in the run-up to the closing of alliances: the incorporation, or not, of the non-K Peronist Juan Schiaretti to the space. A move sponsored by Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and the president of the UCR, Gerardo Morales, which has among its main detractors Patricia Bullrich, Mauricio Macri and the Cordovan radicalism itself.

In the pending folder they also have the agreement with the liberal José Luis Espert – who also faces the presidential candidates of the PRO – and with the leader of the GEN, Margarita Stolbizer. Read more here.

They estimate that the Court will rule on a precautionary measure against the indefinite re-election of Gildo Insfrán

Former federal judge Fernando Carbajal, pre-candidate of Together for Free Formosa.

The candidate for governor of Together for Change in Formosa, Fernando Carbajal, trusted this Saturday that the Court will rule in the coming days on his request to suspend the June 25 elections while it is decided if Gildo Insfrán can be re-elected for the tenth time as governor and vice governor of that province.

"We are full of optimism because the Court has already been giving some very healthy messages that in this historical stage it is willing to act with the necessary firmness to ensure the validity of the Republic and human rights throughout the territory of the Nation," said the national deputy in reference to the rulings that prohibited re-elections in Tucumán and San Juan and before in La Rioja and Santiago del Estero. In an interview with Radio con Vos, the radical leader close to Martín Lousteau said that "Together for Change has to expand, incorporate new ideas, give society the feeling that it learned from the mistakes between 2015 and 2019."

Insfrán pointed against Together for Change: "They want to put everything in the hands of Justice"

"Argentina's solution is not to pile up against each other, is to build agreements but each one from the place he has because ultimately the consensus, the true coalition is generated when those who win agree with those who lose and build a country together, not in an electoral front but you continue polarizing Argentina against each other," Urtubey remarked in dialogue with "La hora del campo" on Continental radio.

Divided, the Buenos Aires radicals ratify their membership in Together for Change

With the electoral clock running – in three weeks the lists are closed – and crossed by the internal PRO in the Province, the Radical Civic Union will hold its Buenos Aires convention this Saturday in Coronel Suárez, in which it will ratify its membership in Together for Change and will fight for unity.

The date was confirmed just hours earlier, when the federal judge with electoral competence, Alejo Ramos Padilla, rejected the appeal filed by the sector of the mayor of San Isidro, Gustavo Posse, to suspend the meeting, arguing that the call was irregular.

Formally, the convention will have no other mission than to ratify the UCR's membership in the Together for Change coalition. More information here.
