Highlights: On 8 April, the last corona protection measure was the legal obligation to wear a mouth and nose covering. Since then, it has been a thing of the past in the majority of medical facilities in the district. With a few exceptions, only a few medical facilities still rely on mandatory mouth-nose coverings. The Asklepios Clinic in Tölz relies on personal responsibility - with two exceptions: Corona-positive patients and medical staff who treat people with infectious diseases.

With a few exceptions, only a few medical facilities still rely on mandatory mouth-nose coverings.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – For years, it was a faithful companion in everyday life during the Corona pandemic. In the meantime, it ekes out an often forgotten existence in jacket pockets or medicine cabinets: the mask. On 8 April, the last corona protection measure was the legal obligation to wear a mouth and nose covering. Since then, it has been a thing of the past in the majority of medical facilities in the district.

This is also the case at the Asklepios Clinic in Tölz. As press spokesman Christopher Horn reports, the facility relies on personal responsibility - with two exceptions: Corona-positive patients and medical staff who treat people with infectious diseases. "Otherwise, our employees are free to choose whether they want to wear an FFP2 mask or a mouth-nose mask, even apart from the exceptions." The same applies to visitors.

The Geretsried family doctor Dr. Schmucker wants to wait for the cold time of the year before he completely dispenses with the mask - less because of Corona and more because of general infectious diseases. He urges his patients to cover their mouths and noses, at least in the waiting room. During the treatment, it can be dispensed with. "If someone forgets their mask – no problem. We have some on site," says the doctor.

In the Tölzer practice of Dr. Adelheid Raifer, patients are generally allowed to do without it. "Only when they have cold symptoms are people asked to put on an FFP2 mask," medical assistant Barbara Oswald told our newspaper.

Without a mouth-nose covering, Kerstin Schenk's patients can visit her psychotherapy practice in Wolfratshausen. Schenk has gotten used to it in the meantime. After all, the obligation to wear it was already in force in some cases from April 2020. But in conversations, which are an essential part of Schenk's therapy, the facial expressions of the other person are important. "So it's an advantage to see the faces uncovered again."

Since the beginning of April, masks have also no longer been compulsory in the orthopaedic centre in Wolfratshausen and in Ulli Labermeier's dental practice in Königsdorf.
