Designer Tamar Michalovich was asked to design a 5-room apartment with an area of 120 meters in Ganei Tikva for a couple of parents and a teenager. The clients' request was to plan the apartment as a spacious unit for the parents and as a separate unit for the adolescent, with the guideline being a clean and minimalist look.

The color palette chosen is black, gray and wood in different places in the house, the walls of the house were painted in a warm shade of white - which is also the color chosen for some of the cabinets in the house. The lighting in the house is minimalist, precise and consistently combines different colors and materials in all rooms of the apartment.

"The concept in the planning and design was meticulous and minimalist, each and every piece of furniture was examined and tested for a precise fit to the space and so were the other accessories", says Michalovitch, "In the kitchen we used oak veneer coating, light silk formica combined with black marble in an industrial and special look. The kitchen was designed with meticulous and functional carpentry work, combining a line of high cabinets containing a built-in refrigerator, oven and refrigerator, a large and spacious pantry create a kitchen with a uniform and modern look but restrained, functional and unconventional," added the designer.
"To the kitchen space we added a wide island and wooden bar stools in natural blackened oak tones with a meticulous choice of matching textiles for the seats and back. The island serves the residents of the house for storage and as an additional work surface. It also creates a kind of separation between the kitchen and the living room and provides a comfortable place for the members of the household to sit."

In the main space you will find postmodern wall art made of bent and cut metal in different layers that give a sense of levitation in the space. "In the living room, we decided on a large and luxurious sofa that creates a light and precise atmosphere in the gorgeous space alongside an additional, intimate and comfortable seating area with a light look combined with thin iron legs and contrasting dark fabric for the sofa. The TV wall is decorated with decorative plaster in the shade of the kitchen cabinets - 'power wall', on which minimalist carpentry in fluted black wood was incorporated.

In the living room space there is also a cabinet with unique carpentry work, in the center of which is a decorative floor-to-ceiling shelf with an asymmetrical division in black color. "The closet is a special design item, but beyond that it is a storage place for decorative items, books, pictures and more," Michalovich says.

In the bedrooms the furniture was purchased according to the size of the rooms and the design of the house - clean and functional. The parents' bedroom was designed in a luxurious modern design with a large and luxurious walk-in closet and zero-line doors for a uniform look with the wall. "In the adolescent's room, we decided according to his needs, on a bed of 1.40 meters, a large closet and a desk with a comfortable and efficient work space and above it a designed iron library with a decorative mesh back in an industrial look for storage," the designer added.

The bathrooms have been designed as a cosy, inviting and super designed place. The bathtub was eliminated in favor of a wide and large shower stall, the dark flooring that continues to a power wall in a dark shade that incorporates solid wood carpentry, an oval mirror with a thin iron frame in black color that connects integrally and harmoniously matches the colors in the room space.

"The apartment has a clean and minimalist look adapted to the residents of the house, spacious bedrooms, a kitchen designed 'like a catalogue', a large living room with a large sofa and comfortable armchairs. The choices are planned and precise down to the smallest detail: choosing finishing materials, clothing and furniture, lighting and art," concludes the designer.
