Dachau – Accompanied by soft lounge music, numerous visitors cavorted on the terrace of Café Zaunkönig at Augsburger Straße 9 on Friday evening and enjoyed one of the first warm summer evenings of the year.
"No dancing, but good music to switch off in a casual atmosphere," is how Alex Schmid from Dachau's Roxibar describes the atmosphere. Schmid, who took over the Roxibar from Matthias Schilcher only a few months ago, has now created the second attraction for Dachau's nightlife with the terrace bar evening at Café Zaunkönig.
Together with his acquaintance, the wren boss Andi Friedsam, he wants to "revive the old town", as he emphasizes. The plan: First, the night owls enjoy a relaxed drink, accompanied by cool lounge music, on Friday evening between 18 and 22 p.m. on the wren terrace and then move on to the nearby Roxibar - where it can be louder and danced. Schmid and Friedsam speak of a win-win situation for both sides, they want a "smooth transition" between the two restaurants.
However, it is not yet clear whether this plan can be implemented every Friday evening throughout the summer, according to Schmid. After the successful premiere on Friday, the city wants to decide next week on the further approval of this summer gastronomic offer. With the residents, Schmid emphasizes, there are no difficulties.
And if you asked the group of visitors last Friday who were sipping their cocktail comfortably, you only got one answer: a thumbs up.
