This year, the JNF is sending 126 participating employees to 15 different teams in six different men's and women's industries. Among the participating sports are cycling, netball, bowling, futsal, field tennis, mountain biking, table tennis and even chess and bridge. "Sports allow employees to be healthier and more cohesive, and the organization only benefits from that," says JNF Human Resources Director Yossi Perl.

The district, which is currently taking place for the 35th time in Eilat, continues to provide employees from many workplaces with competitions in various industries. Among the participating sports are cycling, netball, bowling, futsal, field tennis, mountain biking, table tennis and even chess and bridge. Like every year, JNF employees will participate in the competition, this time in record numbers.

"The district is already a tradition with us. Sports at KKL-JNF have grown in recent years and this is a partnership between the management and the workers' organization, and we see sports activities as a very important value. An organization that wants to be healthy needs to take care of the employees' spirit both in mind and body," says KKL-JNF Human Resources Director Yossi Perl, who is part of the Sports Administration. "Sports allow employees to be healthier and more cohesive, and the organization only benefits from that. This year, the JNF is sending 126 participating employees (more than 10 percent of the JNF's employees) to 15 different teams in six different men's and women's industries. This is a record number and I, as part of the organization's sports directorate, am proud of it. I wish all the players much success in the games and that they will bring back many more trophies and good experiences."

Team building for employees

Israel Goldstein, Chairman of the KKL-JNF National Workers' Association, said, "I am proud of the workers who take part in the competitions in the district. Their sportsmanship to bring pride to the organization is evident here in every game in different sports."

According to him, "JNF employees give their heart and soul to every game and the workers' organization supports this experiential activities even after work hours. It inspires their unity for the sake of victory and pride of the organization, but victory is not the main thing but the bonding of employees and employees in teamwork around a common goal. I believe that this year as well, we will represent the JNF with honor and come back with victories and trophies from all sports."

Participant in the competition for 21 years

Malka Barkai, Director of Education Abroad, has been participating for 21 years in the district and in various regional competitions on behalf of the JNF. She founded the first women's basketball team, and for 15 years was the captain and then moved to women's basketball as a player. "Throughout the year we have games against teams in the Jerusalem District. 21 years ago, when I founded the women's basketball team, there was only a men's soccer and tennis team. Slowly, different teams were formed and now there are over a hundred athletes from around the country of the JNF who represent the JNF in a variety of sports. It's a team building, a big carnival, and I already have a variety of trophies in my office."

Nadav Danzan, a JNF land inspector, has also worked at the JNF for 12 years and has been with the group since the day he started working. "I'm a former soccer player, so I joined KKL-JNF's soccer team, and it's one of the most sought-after sports among employees," he says. "We are ten players and a coach and we have the privilege of being in something like this, a few days of getting out of the routine and from work and coming to sports competitions, which for me is a gift, and also having fun and bonding with the employees. We also meet other people from other workplaces that we work with every day. We had years of trophies and championships and also started the current district on the right foot and won the first game. So we're happy now."
