VIDEO - The influencer has just been sanctioned by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) for fraudulent advertising on social networks.

Like many of her fellow reality TV contestants, Capucine Anav earns her living by promoting various products to her online community for a fee. This Friday, June 2, she answered Aurélie Casse's questions on BFMTV. The influencer is accused by the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) of fraudulent advertising on social networks. In the list of pinned personalities, we also find Simon Castaldi, the son of the columnist of "TPMP" or Illan Castronovo, recently at the heart of a sexual assault case. And it is a very strange defense that the young woman proposed live.

In duplex, Aurélie Casse questions her interlocutor about her product placements. The former candidate of "Secret Story" claims to have stopped this practice: "I was controlled. As soon as I have been told of my mistakes, I am very careful about everything I post." She assures "not to have been aware of deceiving her audience. I was sentenced to nothing. I was not fined. I just had a reminder of the law. The mistakes were quite small. I just had to post this post," she adds. Capucine Anav refers to a text published on her social networks providing additional information on some brands whose merits she praises.

Product placement in the middle of an interview

One of the products mentioned are "Mobile Anti-Wave Patches" supposed to absorb the waves emitted by computers or mobile phones. These supposed properties are not demonstrated by convincing scientific evidence. "Have you ever done the test yourself? It is difficult to understand, "asks the journalist of BFMTV. "Yes. I am independent. But maybe in an agency, I would have been better supervised. It's me who contacts the brands" replies Capucine Anav who to support her statement shows her mobile phone in front of the camera saying "I do not lie to you. I always have it with me."

Then begins a lunar sequence where the young woman promotes these famous patches, using the vocabulary well known to influencers in their story: "I always have it on my phone. I tested it. It's true that I had small insomnia. I had tingling in my hands. I looked on the internet where it could come from. I saw that it could come from mobile phones. I did my research. I came across that brand. I ordered it two years ago. I tried it. And as far as I'm concerned, I've seen improvements. That's why I thought it could be quite good to offer this to my subscribers."

"Your personal case cannot be a scientific experiment"

"But you keep advertising it? Because you show it to us? What is the purpose? You keep saying you have to buy this patch?" Aurélie Casse is surprised by the influencer who persists in her promotion. "But here, you have just advertised this patch while you are sanctioned, precisely, for having advertised it" reframes the journalist before adding: "You just said that it sucked certain waves, but it's false! There is no scientific experiment that demonstrates this, it is false! Your personal case cannot be a scientific experiment, it is not based on anything you say. Are you aware of it or not?"

"Yet... There are videos that prove that it sucks certain waves, "tries to defend Capucine Anav, but in vain. "There's your job as an influencer, but there's my job as a journalist... No scientific experiment proves what you say! It's important that I say it," concludes Aurélie Casse on air.
