The Jerusalem District Hotline 100 received a report from a woman tonight (between Saturday and Sunday) that her husband was threatening to murder her with a knife in their home in the Issawiya neighborhood. The woman locked herself with her daughters in a room in the house. Police arrived at the scene, and when the officers entered the house and began investigating the incident, it turned out that it was suspected that this was not the first incident of violence by the suspect.
The suspect rioted at the scene, attacked the officers and resisted arrest. The officers overpowered him and found a knife in the apartment with which he allegedly threatened his wife. The suspect (24, resident of Issawiya) was detained for questioning at the Shalem police station.

On their way out of the house with the detainee, a violent disturbance began against them, including firing fireworks, throwing stones and Molotov cocktails. One of the fireworks fired at the officers hit the woman's child, who did not require medical attention.
The forces responded with means to disperse disturbances, and in one case shots were fired at a suspect identified with a Molotov cocktail (no injury was identified). As a result of the disturbance, police cars were damaged and our forces were not injured. This morning, police officers operating at the scene following the disturbance located a beehive of fireworks.
Today, the suspect who was arrested will be brought with a request to extend his detention at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court in order to exhaust the investigation and bring him to justice.
