The carnage on the roads continues to claim victims: a 60-year-old electric bicycle rider was killed when hit by a truck - a concrete mixer - on Kibbutz Galuyot Road, near the Holtz junction in Tel Aviv. After the impact, the truck driver fled the scene and police followed him at this time.
MDA medics and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene after he lost signs of life.
MDA emergency medics Shai Bachar and Maidan Ben Yoash said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw the man lying on the road without a pulse and without breathing with a multi-system injury. We were told that he had been hit by a truck during the ride. We carried out medical tests, he had no signs of life and we had to pronounce him dead."
The Israel Police said that a short time ago the report of a traffic accident between the cyclist and a cement mixer was received on Kibbutz Galuyot Street in Tel Aviv. The offending vehicle fled the scene and police forces are working to locate it. Police are now investigating the circumstances of the accident.
