Between Tuesday, May 9 and Saturday, May 13, the Gaza Strip witnessed a new "escalation" of the conflict with Israel. About 1500 rockets were fired by Islamic Jihad into Israeli territory, killing two people. In the Gaza Strip, Israeli shelling killed 33 people. 93 buildings were destroyed, 128 are uninhabitable, 2516 people have been left homeless. The dead were quickly buried and the rubble removed. Other buildings will probably be rebuilt. But the damage is not only material.
