The three fighters killed last night in an attack on the Egyptian border, Lia Ben Nun, Ohad Dahan and Uri Illouz, will be laid to rest on Sunday.
19-year-old Ben Nun was buried in the military cemetery in Rishon LeZion.
Ben Nun, who was posthumously promoted to sergeant, was killed at an estimated 6:30 a.m. after a night in which she was thwarted in a drug smuggling area from Egypt. The terrorist, an Egyptian policeman who may have infiltrated Israel while thwarting the smuggling, arrived at the position where Ben Nun was with Illouz and shot them dead.

Uri Yitzhak Iluz, a resident of Safed, left behind his parents, two sisters and a brother. His father Shai is a permanent man who retired about a year and a half ago. Last week, Uri attended the memorial service for his grandfather, after whom he is named. His funeral will begin at 17:00 p.m. at the Safed Military Cemetery.

In the afternoon, the terrorist was identified by an IDF force, and a shootout ensued, during which Ohad Dahan, 20, from Ofakim, was killed. Dahan was posthumously promoted to first sergeant. Ohad Shimon Dahan - His funeral will begin at 17:00 at the Ofakim military cemetery.

IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy today ordered the establishment of a systemic investigative team to examine the operational and systemic concept for preparing peaceful borders. In addition, the chief of staff instructed that the investigation into the attack on the Egyptian border be presented in a week. IDF sources believe that as a result of the investigation, officers in the Southern Command will be dismissed.
