A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death this morning in the heart of the Santa Fe city of Rafaela, a few meters from a dance bowling alley from which both the victim and the attacker came out, police spokesmen reported.
The victim was identified as Cristian Damián Benítez, who was found seriously injured on the corner of Sarmiento and Alvear, in the heart of Rafaela, around 5 today.
According to witness testimonies, Benítez was inside a nightclub in the area and shortly before being attacked he left, apparently after having an argument with another young man.
On the way out, the fight continued to escalate and the killer stabbed him a couple of times in the chest area. The assailant was able to escape.
The spokesmen said that Benitez, who suffered at least one stab wound in the chest area, was treated at the southwest corner of Alvear and Sarmiento by paramedics from the 107 emergency service, who tried to revive him without success.
The crime took place at the moment where many of the young people leave the bowling alley, so there were several incidents among those who were drunk and clashed with the police, who tried to cordon off the area to carry out the corresponding expertise.
The Homicide Prosecutor's Office of the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA) ordered the seizure of images captured by video surveillance cameras that can help identify the aggressor, as well as interrogate young people who provide other details.
Benítez's body was first transferred to the Jaime Ferré hospital, while instructions from the Prosecutor's Office were awaited for the autopsy.
A police officer shot dead a thief who tried to steal his car in Merlo
An agent of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) who resisted the theft of her car killed with a bullet in the head one of the two criminals who tried to steal her car, in the Buenos Aires party of Merlo, sources of the force reported Saturday.
The incident occurred on Friday night at the corner of Habana and Mario Bravo, in the town of Libertad, in the western district of Greater Buenos Aires, where the police, dressed in civilian clothes and on duty, were circulating aboard a Fiat Argo car.
Police spokesmen reported that, in those circumstances, she was surprised by two young people who were walking through the place and who intimidated her with a firearm to steal her vehicle.
The assailants forced the woman to descend from the vehicle and began to check her, at which time they stole her cell phone.
Moments later, they found his regulation weapon and a shootout ensued that ended when one of the robbers fell badly wounded to the ground, while his accomplice fled.
The police immediately notified 911 and the Merlo Patrol Command went to the place, who verified the presence of the injured offender. He had a gunshot wound to his head and was lying unconscious.
As a result, an ambulance was requested that then transferred the assailant, who had not yet been identified, to the Eva Perón hospital, where he finally died.
A short .22-caliber revolver belonging to the robbers was seized at the crime scene, police sources said.
On the other hand, the police were unharmed from the armed confrontation and their service weapon was also seized.
Prosecutor Fernando Capello, of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) 2 of the Judicial Department of Morón, intervenes in the case, who at the moment did not adopt any legal temperament regarding the agent.
