A month and a half of rain fell in less than two hours. The Lyon region was hit by violent thunderstorms on Saturday before a return to normal in the night from Saturday to Sunday. This sudden rise in water has disrupted the traffic of motorists and the A450 motorway was temporarily cut Saturday evening, says BFM Lyon.
If the traffic has gradually returned to normal this Sunday morning, the images of the metro of the Lyon agglomeration flooded in the evening are impressive.

The firefighters of the Rhône were called mainly in the south of Lyon but also the sectors Vénissieux, Pierre-Bénite, Oullins, Craponne and Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, according to our colleagues of Progress. Several dozen interventions were recorded Saturday around 22 p.m.
At this moment strong #orages break out on #Lyon and its region, giving #grêle and violent showers that can generate runoff. Be careful in your outdoor activities. pic.twitter.com/rr8IWVkagx

Thunderstorms this Sunday
This Sunday, Météo France still forecasts some showers in the morning in Rhône-Alpes. Vigilance remains in order since in the afternoon, thunderstorms with "good gusts of wind and locally hail" may again hit the sector.
