VfL Denklingen has submitted a corresponding application for member celebrations to the municipality. First, however, agreements must be made between restaurateurs, communities and associations.

Denklingen – Since November 2021, there has been the large civic and association center (BVZ) on Buchweg in Denklingen. Since then, the old sports home in Forchet south of the village has been empty. It belongs to VfL Denklingen. In the sports club, there are now efforts to enable members to have private parties there.

The prerequisite for this is that the municipality of Denklingen agrees to it. For this purpose, a clause must be changed in the user contract for the BVZ. It states that private parties in the old sports home are prohibited.

This is justified by the fact that there is no competition with the new restaurant in the BVZ, which is run by Magnus Ostenrieder. The restaurateur pays a turnover-related rent to the municipality.

Municipal council will soon deal with the issue

VfL Denklingen has now submitted an application to the town hall to "allow private parties in our old sports home in Forchet". It had already been put on the agenda for the most recent municipal council meeting. But Wolfgang Martin, himself a long-time member of the municipal council and chairman of VfL Denklingen, wanted an adjournment. There are still points to be clarified. The majority of councillors agreed to postpone the issue.

Postponed is not cancelled: In one of its next meetings, the municipal council will deal with it again and make a decision on how the BVZ user agreement between the association and the municipality will be structured.

The agreement, which was signed at the end of 2021 by Mayor Andreas Braunegger and the boards of VfL Denklingen, the Musikverein, the Schützenverein and the Landjugend, not only stipulates the rent payments of the clubs to the municipality. In addition, there are also a number of provisions on the BVZ user agreement.

No competition with the gastronomy in the civic and club center

One clause stipulates that private parties in the old sports home are prohibited. But from the athletes' point of view, after more than a year of operation in the BVZ, it can be said "that one or the other birthday party in the old sports home would be absolutely no competition for the successful operation in the BVZ".

The landlord of the restaurant in the BVZ has nothing against birthday parties of VfL members being held in the old sports home, according to the VfL application. The association would make it a condition that food or drinks be obtained from restaurateur Ostenrieder.

The local newspapers in the district of Weilheim-Schongau are represented under "merkur_wm_sog" on Instagram.

It goes on to say that a "win-win situation" could be created in this way. On the one hand, the landlord sells food and/or drinks, on the other hand, the club has an additional opportunity for the members where celebrations can take place, describes Wolfgang Martin of VfL Denklingen, which has 950 members. The passage that private parties are not permitted is to be declared null and void.

Agreements still need to be made

However, according to the municipality, contract negotiations between VfL Denklingen and the innkeeper have now taken place. However, these have not been successful so far. In the end, the restaurateur withdrew his consent to an agreement on the grounds that the municipality and VfL Denklingen would first have to come to an agreement.

From the municipality's point of view, some requirements need to be clarified. These relate to fire protection and statics in the building. Furthermore, they want to obtain the consent of the other clubs based in the BVZ (music band, rural youth, shooters). In addition, VfL Denklingen should agree that only birthday parties are permitted that are under 40 years of age, that a maximum of ten celebrations take place per year, that the date must be registered at least four weeks in advance with the innkeeper and the municipality and that all food and drinks should be purchased from the BVZ tenant.
