On Monday, there is a high risk of forest fires in many parts of Bavaria. This was announced by the German Weather Service via the corresponding danger index.
Kahl/Main – Despite the comparatively rainy spring, the risk of forest fires in Bavaria is now skyrocketing. This is because water scarcity remains high and temperatures have recently risen sharply again. On Monday, 5 June, the German Weather Service (DWD) is now issuing serious forest fire warnings in large parts of Bavaria.
Risk of forest fires in Bavaria high: Even the highest level reached
For each day, the DWD's forest fire danger index indicates how high the respective danger is in all regions of Bavaria. This is increased in many parts of the Free State on the month: In many districts, the danger level is four – "high danger".

The highest level – "very high danger" – is also reached in the district of Kitzingen and in the municipality of Kahl am Main, district of Aschaffenburg.

Warning to people: no open fire
With such a high risk of forest fires, the population is warned by the authorities to be very careful. Under no circumstances should open fires be lit in wooded areas, and the authorities also ask you to refrain from smoking there.
But it is not only the drought that is causing problems for the forests. For allergy sufferers, the current grass pollen load is enormously high. The German Weather Service pointed this out again separately via Twitter, also with reference to the next few days, in which the situation will not really improve. (FHZ)
