On Monday morning, there was an accident on the A8 near Eschenried. The result: long traffic jams.
Eschenried - A van crashed into a lane divider on Monday (June 5) shortly after 6 a.m. at the Munich-Eschenried motorway junction at the level of the division of the A8 and A99 lanes. This is reported by the police. There was considerable property damage, fortunately no one was injured according to the current state of knowledge, according to an initial report by the police from 7 o'clock in the morning.
The main carriageway of the A8 was reopened after short traffic safety measures. The main carriageway of the A99 Eschenrieder Spange in the direction of Salzburg (A8 AK Süd) had to be closed due to considerable contamination by leaking operating fluids. The lockdown is expected to last even longer. The backlog is miles long. Road users are advised to bypass via the signposted detours.

Since soil still has to be dredged due to the spilled operating materials, the clean-up work is delayed until around noon. This is reported by the police. The Eschenrieder clasp will remain completely closed until then.
The person responsible for the accident is a 58-year-old driver of a Mercedes van from Baden-Württemberg who left the road due to carelessness and crashed into the road divider. The driver and his passenger were both uninjured. The vehicle suffered property damage amounting to around 20,000 euros, while the damage to the road divider amounts to around 25,000 euros. The Geißelbullach and Graßlfing fire brigades are deployed at the scene of the accident.
