"Three to four people" are involved in the assault of Kenzo, fan of OM, suffering from cancer, and his father, said Monday the prosecutor of Ajaccio.

Two days after the attacks that occurred in Ajaccio during the match between the club of the city and Olympique de Marseille, the prosecutor of Ajaccio, Nicolas Septe unveiled details on the episode of violence. A father and his 8-year-old son were violently attacked by fans in the enclosure of the François-Coty stadium, on the sidelines of a Ligue 1 match that ended in victory of Ajaccio.

According to the prosecutor, who spoke on BFMTV this Monday morning, the father of the young boy was interviewed. Kenzo, an OM fan suffering from cancer, had been invited to Corsica with his parents to meet OM players. Kenzo's father told investigators he donned an OM jersey when entering a box dedicated to them. This gesture reportedly provoked the anger of Ajaccian supporters, who then burst into the box and physically assaulted the father of the family. The little boy, meanwhile, "hit his head against a railing of the dressing room," the prosecutor explained. It was the stadium security service that put an end to the attack, quickly intervening to put the family out of reach of Ajaccian fans.

Attackers still being identified

An investigation was quickly opened by the Ajaccio prosecutor's office for "violence in assembly". Less than forty-eight hours after these events, investigators are still identifying the alleged attackers. According to Nicolas Septe, who quotes the statements of the father of the family attacked, at least "three to four people" are at the origin of these facts of violence, "including one more particularly".

The president of the club of AC Ajaccio, Alain Orsoni, for his part, condemned "with the greatest firmness" these facts of violence, adding that the club would file a complaint.
