LEFIGARO. - Do you realize that you are, since Saturday, the big winner of "The Voice"?
Aurelian VIVOS. - My heart is racing a lot, I see on social networks all the messages and videos. It's incredible, I'm very touched by this wave of support, it's magical. I'm still struggling to realize. On Sunday, I did a series of interviews and it's nice to be able to share my feelings.

How did you feel when Nikos Aliagas said your first name at the end of the show?
I was torn because we, the four finalists, deserved to win "The Voice." Especially Micha whom I adore, I hurt for him. I felt like I was stealing the trophy from him. I didn't want him to hurt even though risk is part of the game. And I also had to rejoice that people voted for me and that I honor their trust by thanking them.

Your victory is all the more beautiful as you fell ill shortly before the semi-final...
To this day, I am still recovering from laryngitis. Luckily my vocal coach, Nathalie Dupuis, was there. She was my guardian angel, she got me an emergency appointment with an ENT in Paris. I was lucky enough to be followed very well because, four days before the semi-final, I could no longer sing. But I never considered giving up.

"When I was offered 'The Voice', I initially turned it down because I didn't feel legitimate."

Aurelian Vivos

What did you gain by winning season 12 of "The Voice"?
I will receive an advance of 50,000 euros for the production of my next album with Universal. For now, they let me go down a little bit but we will very quickly talk about the rest. I am very well surrounded, I will discover and learn.

Were you apprehensive about the televised dimension of the competition and the fact of being so exposed?
Yes, but when I was on set, I was aware of the audience watching us but not the millions of viewers. I wasn't thinking about the cameras, I couldn't imagine at the time that we were going to be broadcast. Even today, I still can't seem to realize that millions of people watched this final in front of their televisions. It's incredible to be asked in the street to be photographed, it's fun.

How were you spotted to take part in this season of "The Voice"?
It was my friend Véronique Martinez, whom I have known for 17 years, who saw in me what people see today and that I did not want to see. She did everything to make me open my eyes, she believed in me and I ended up being spotted on YouTube by Sarah Berchot, Bruno Berberes' assistant. It was an incredible combination of circumstances. When I was offered "The Voice," I initially turned it down because I didn't feel legitimate.

"I have a bond with Zazie that goes back to childhood"

Aurelian Vivos

Walking the blind audition stage, did you imagine for a moment that you could win?
Not at all, I assumed that no one was going to turn around. I was there to live in the moment and keep a great memory. But, in the end, I was spoilt for choice. Every step of the way, I told myself that maybe it was the last time and that I had to enjoy it to the fullest. I didn't want to see "The Voice" as a competition.

The coaches had taken a while to turn around...
At one point in the song, it was going into the lows and I knew that if it had to turn around, it was at that moment. At first, they may have been confused. And, fortunately, it worked, especially with Zazie with whom I really wanted to work. I have a connection with her that goes back to childhood, I listened to her songs on the radio. I love his personality and his artistic universe. She was great with me.

You quit your job as a storekeeper between the start of filming last fall and the finale of "The Voice"...
Until the Super Cross Battle tapings, I still had my job as a storekeeper and I was taking time off to make myself available for the show. In the end, it was unpaid absences and, financially, it became complicated. I obtained an amicable termination of my contract. Today, I am unemployed, this had never happened to me.

Could a show like "Star Academy" have tempted you?
No, for a reason: because I don't know how to dance, it terrifies me! Singing is fine, but dancing and moving, I don't know how to do and I will never know I think. I would be directly eliminated.
