Brand Studio for Carolina Herrera

Rio de Janeiro was the setting chosen by Carolina Herrera to hold the first parade outside of glamorous New York City. The "Marvelous City" hosted the Resort 2024 parade that took place in was Santa Teresa, a hilltop district with a charming village atmosphere. The steep and winding streets are lined with elegant old mansions, which give it that particular touch. Wes Gordon chose this destination for its legacy and cultural richness, fully aligned with the values of Carolina Herrera, a fashion house with a Latin heart.

Mother Nature and the tropical Brazilian climate proved to be the ultimate muse. As guests arrived to enjoy sunset cocktails and an impressive rainbow surrounding the stage, a downpour descended on the show venue for a prolonged and unexpected time. Finally, the guests were escorted to the adjoining party in a jungle greenhouse built for the occasion. There the models were filmed in the rain, barefoot and with shoes in hand, an emotional and romantic image of the Girl from Ipanema.

Luxury guests and amazing scenery.

For her part, Eugenia "China" Suarez was the personality chosen to represent Argentina in Carolina Herrera's Resort 2024 fashion show and the rest of the welcome activities for the designer and the world celebrities summoned, such as Maria Frubies, Hiba Abouk, Valentina Ferragni, Lele Burnier, María Rita Alonso, Thai de Melo, Fernanda Lima, Luiza Brasil, Macabeso, Barbara Lopez, Natdupeyron, Viavianne Diez, Kika Silvas, Marwa, Jood Aziz, Heisel Mora, Leonie Hanne, Dylana Suarez, Natalie Suárez, Gabrielle Caunesil and Julia Sarr-Jamois.

The change of city for this great event was not a minor fact, since this is the first time it happens in its more than 40 years of history. For the house of Carolina Herrera, this parade is a long-awaited return to Brazil. In 2019, founder Carolina Herrera and creative beauty director Carolina A. Herrera visited São Paulo for the launch of Good Girl Dot Drama.

A collection that has plenty of sensuality.

Wes Gordon, creative director of the firm said: "I am delighted to celebrate our first show outside of New York in Rio de Janeiro. It is a city that inspires us for many reasons: its vibrant color palette; the eclecticism of his popular music, revered throughout the world; the impressive architecture of Oscar Niemeyer, and the exuberance of its traditions, which I respect greatly. Rio has a legacy of extraordinary richness, cultural mix and exciting diversity. We are a house with a Latin heart, and this collection allows us to explore that DNA from a different cultural and geographical point of view, always from a deep admiration and respect. I'm looking forward to collaborating with local teams to bring this special experience to life."

The parade turned into a real party.

New collection

This amazing Carolina Herrera Resort 2024 collection embarks on a journey of exuberant joy and sensuality. A spirit of lightness and ultra-modern ease permeates the collection, with unforgettable pieces that do not sacrifice an iota of fabulousness.

Each piece is a work of art.

Undoubtedly, Wes Gordon continues to reinvent the iconic codes of the Herrera house in new and captivating ways, through proportions, fabrics and a rainbow color palette based on the characteristic New York black.

Moles are imposed once again.

The proportions of the classic cotton shirt are expanded considerably, wrapped and tucked into skirts to the ground cut in the form of sarong. Polka dots take on a playful tone, cotton with eyelets is shown in a vibrant green, lacquered red and black, in cocktail dresses, ball skirts and ball gowns that give an air to the most glamorous garments.

The flown ones give it that perfect volume.

This season's Herrera woman has a reinforced spirit of relaxed confidence. However, at night, the volume rises with dramatic gestures, created without interior constructions or corsetry, but relies on precise tailoring and feather-light weaving.

The colors bring a unique style.

The unexpected color scheme creates unforgettable entries, such as a mini dress trimmed in lake blue, kiwi green and papaya orange. A rainbow ruffle skirt floats, delighting with the entire color palette of the collection. The sequins throughout the garment take on a dramatic touch, evoking watercolors or a brilliant sunset. Orchids are a motif present throughout the collection: delicate embroidery and soft watercolor prints in organza. A duo of tulle pieces is a triumph of the New York workshop, made with hundreds of layers of hand-cut tulle in black and white undulations, in homage to the modernist promenade designed by Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. The collection is completed with vibrant jewelry in bright tones under the twilight sun.
