Mainburg – A construction site accident occurred on Sunday morning, June 4, in Industrienstraße in Mainburg, Kelheim district. A 30-metre-high crane has fallen over and crashed into two industrial buildings. Fortunately, no one was injured, but gigantic damage was caused.

According to a police press release on Sunday evening, the accident occurred in the morning around 11.15 a.m. According to the report, a 30-meter-high construction crane fell over and fell on two industrial buildings. According to the police, no one was injured, but the buildings were badly damaged. "Parts of the buildings had to be checked, blocked and partially supported by a structural engineer," it says.
A photovoltaic system on the roof was also damaged, causing short circuits and smoke. However, a building fire was prevented by the fire brigade. The construction crane was completely destroyed.

Cause of accident unclear – high property damage
According to the police, it has not yet been possible to clarify how it came about that the construction crane fell over. However, there are initial indications that a subsidence of the subsoil was the cause of the accident. The crane had been at the site for several weeks due to roof work. More detailed explanations of the accident will only be available after the upcoming investigations.
