Highlights: In terms of finances, the project is on schedule. However, there was a delay due to the insolvency of the construction company. The planner expects completion this year, but it will take "a week or two longer" for the expansion. The new fire station will be accessed from two sides, with the main access via Schulstraße. The tenders for the exterior design are to be issued in June, and work is to begin in September. There was a need for further discussion about the illuminated showcase requested by the Mittbach fire department.

The cost calculation for the new fire station in Mittbach is three million euros. In terms of finances, the project is on schedule. However, there was a delay due to the insolvency of the construction company.

Isen – Progress is being made again with the construction of the fire station in Mittbach. "We are getting back on track," stated architect Christian Appel in his progress report to the Isen market town council.- In the past, delays in construction had occurred mainly due to supply bottlenecks and the insolvency of the construction company. The good news from the planner, however, was: "Precision landing in costs".

The calculation is three million euros. In the case of construction cost group 300 (construction and building construction), 1.1 million of the 1.5 million euros have now been awarded. Due to an increase in the price of acoustic ceilings, one is just above the cost calculation. The cost group 400 is cost-neutral, and there is a price increase of 30,000 euros for electrical work. "This is understandable due to the time delay and the upward price development," said the architect. Since the outdoor facilities will also be within the set budget, according to Appel, the bottom line is that there will be a precision landing.

Currently, roofers and drywall builders are working on the construction site, and the electrical installations have been completed. The planner expects completion this year, but it will take "a week or two longer" for the expansion.

Appel left the decision as to what type of formwork should be attached to the upper floor and gable to the councils. He himself preferred tongue and groove formwork in different board widths, as this creates a two-dimensional impression that fits best with the anthracite grey windows and is the least problematic to install around the windows.

The majority of the municipal council also voted in favour of a tongue and groove and thus against the cost-identical alternative: a cover strip formwork. Appel reassured the fear of local councillor Hans Angermaier (Mittbach-Liste) that the larch wood used would turn "bland grey" by pointing out that the façade was only weathered on the gable side. Due to the roof overhang of two meters, the long sides are not exposed to the weather.

Sophia Lederhofer from Bauer Landscape Architects in Wörth provided information about the design of the outdoor facilities. The new fire station will be accessed from two sides, with the main access via Schulstraße. The majority of the parking spaces are located on General Moreau Street and can therefore be approached quickly in an emergency. The parking spaces are also so generously dimensioned that cumbersome manoeuvring is superfluous.

Ecology is not only taken into account in the border planting with flower meadows and narrow-crowned trees, the permeability of the paved areas is also provided, Lederhofer reported. For example, the pitches will be provided with lawn joint plaster and slab strips for demarcation. The yard will be paved with concrete blocks of different formats. On the south side, which is less frequented, so-called gravel lawn will be laid out, creating a walkable, green area.

The tenders for the exterior design are to be issued in June, and work is to begin in September. There was a need for further discussion about the illuminated showcase requested by the Mittbach fire department. "We will discuss this," Mayor Irmgard Hibler concluded the discussion at the meeting.
