The secret sovereign princess Caroline of Hanover has a firm grip on the princely house. Charlène remains in the background, while Albert's sister increasingly presents her children.
Monaco – While Charlène von Monaco's (45) comeback after seven months of illness and absence in the Prince's Palace was celebrated a year ago, disillusionment quickly prevailed after the first frenzy of joy. Already at the first joint appearance of the family at the legendary Monaco car race, the princess was absent and unhappy, rumors quickly circulated that it was also about power struggles with the woman who had held the position for the former swimmer: Prince Albert's (65) big sister Caroline of Hanover (66).

Time does not heal wounds in this case, even after a year, the princess and the firstborn Prince Rainiers (81, † 2005) and Gracia Patricias (52, † 1982) seem estranged. Especially family matters, such as the 100th birthday of the deceased princely father on May 31, 2023, Caroline apparently does not give up easily. A year ago, according to reports, Bunte said that the Grimaldis were going to the barricades, and that the participation of South African-born Charlène was undesirable.
While there was initially the suspicion that Albert II had not yet known whether his wife would return when the occupation was determined the day before last, he was apparently happy to leave the field to his sister. There were also rumours of a marital crisis. Either way, Charlène apparently remained excluded from the preparations. Caroline held the reins and increasingly positioned her four adult children in the spotlight. While the children of the prince's daughter have so far tended to do what they wanted, Charlotte Casiraghi (36), Alexandra of Hanover (23), Andrea Casiraghi (38) and Pierre Casiraghi (35) have recently been seen more often in representative tasks.
Prince's Palace was forced to end speculation about a marital crisis
The French magazine ROYAUTÉ recently claimed that the royal couple, who have been married since 2011, are in a process of separation.
However, the palace's press office stated that it "formally denies the malicious rumours that the magazine is peddling".
A spokesperson said: "I would like to officially deny the malicious rumours spread by the French magazine Royauté. Please do not pay attention to this article, it has no basis whatsoever".

To wave from the balcony, Caroline of Hanover leaned over the parapet with her son Pierre Casiraghi, granddaughter India (19), daughter Alexandra and daughter-in-law Beatrice Borromeo (2022) on National Day on November 8, 37. Charlène was absent from the traditional Rose Ball – Caroline's profession has remained untouched for years. Meanwhile, Caroline put herself in the limelight with her children Charlotte, Andrea with his wife Tatiana (39) and Pierre with his wife Beatrice, as well as baby Alexandra and boyfriend Ben-Sylvester Strautmann (24). At the Cannes Film Festival, Charlotte and Beatrice once again enchanted the fans at the opening ceremony, not the mother of the country.

If it weren't for the rule in Monaco that male descendants have priority over female children, Caroline would be the born regent. Apparently, this did not escape her father's notice either.
