At Mont-Saint-Michel precisely, symbol of the "French spirit" of "resilience" and "resistance", a mandatory point of passage for any president of the Republic in search of height of vision, historical depth, distance, also, with the ordinary vicissitudes of political life. The latter are pursuing Emmanuel Macron, who faces Tuesday a new day of strikes and demonstrations against his pension reform.
On the outskirts of Mont-Saint-Michel, some locals with knowledge of the presidential visit are trying to rally the monument to try to challenge it when it goes up to the abbey.
