After the appointment of Florian Pleiner as district fire councillor, Julian Holzner is now at the head of the Hohenpolding activists.

Hohenpolding – 28 years young and an educator by profession is the new commander of the Hohenpolding fire brigade. Julian Holzner was first elected among his comrades at the annual general meeting and shortly afterwards unanimously confirmed in a municipal council meeting. The reason for the non-regular change was the election of the previous Hohenpolding commander Florian Pleiner to the district fire council.

Holzner had previously been deputy commander and youth warden alongside Rupert Mairoth. For the latter office, the successor is yet to be announced. Furthermore, the elections showed that Franz Löffelmann now occupies the second deputy post.

"Fortunately, we have got a young, committed successor," Mayor Alfons Beilhack introduced the new commander at the municipal council meeting. Holzner thanked them for the congratulations and referred to the "good, experienced hands of the two deputies" that he has at his side. "With Rupert Mairoth and Franz Löffelmann in the team, we continue to be a strong fire brigade that is ready to protect citizens at any time," said Holzner. He offered his advice to the local councillors in all matters relating to the fire brigade. In his three years as deputy commander, he had acquired all the necessary qualifications, such as the course "Head of a Fire Department".

He sees one of the first and probably biggest tasks in the construction of a new fire station, which has been an issue in the community for a long time. "We are in talks with the mayor and the municipal council and see a great need, because our current house is bursting at the seams," Holzner said in an interview with our newspaper.

KBR Pleiner also addressed this topic at the Annual General Meeting and urged timely implementation: "It is crucial to start working quickly with concrete facts and details regarding the possibilities. Waiting longer without concrete cornerstones will neither improve the situation at the current location nor the price situation for buildings and land," says Pleiner.

Hohenpolding currently has 51 active firefighters and eight youth firefighters and managed 2022 missions in a total of 36 volunteer hours in 397. After the reports of the commander, youth warden and board of directors at the annual general meeting, the introduction of a passive spokesman was decided in an amendment to the statutes. For this purpose, Johann Mayer was elected by the assembly.

Martin Grandinger and Robert Ostermaier were honored with a certificate for 25 years of active service. Konrad Moser and Rupert Mairoth also received the Bavarian Fire Brigade Cross of Honour in silver.
