Once again, an innkeeper in Grafing is closing: The castle restaurant in the Unterelkofen district needs a new tenant.
Unterelkofen – Mediterranean specialities in the Grafinger Dobelwald: This was the concept with which the well-known innkeeper Horatio Husian started about two years ago in the castle restaurant in Unterelkofen; popularly known as "castles". Now the experiment with oysters and sparkling wine as a permanent culinary offer is over. The castle is closed.
Host says: "You can't cook without staff" - now he's somewhere else
But not because the guests didn't come, Husian emphasizes when asked by EZ. Although the winter was not easy, also because of the heating costs, the problem lies elsewhere: "You can't cook without staff," he says. He didn't even get a call back to his search ads. "It's a shame because it's such a beautiful beer garden," says Husian.
For him, it's not the end of his career as a host. Just a few weeks ago, he took over the Hochreiterhof, the restaurant of the Golflubs Elkofen. Non-members can also come there – the gastronomic concept is similar, says the innkeeper. Upscale Mediterranean cuisine with fish, meat and pasta specialties.
Schlossgaststätte Elkofen: Tavern with an eventful history
In the eventful history of the Unterelkofen castle restaurant, it is again a tenant end in a short time. In 2021, the Corona pandemic had driven Husian's predecessor into insolvency. And in 2017, a host family had not returned from a vacation. But there were also long, successful leases of the restaurant owned by the Rechberg family. The building has been leased to the Wildbräu brewery since 1962. Their boss, Gregor Schlederer, did not comment on the termination of his landlord and the plans for the restaurant.
