In "Die Höhle der Löwen", the mother-subsidiary company Vapo Wesp was able to impress investors in 2022. Today, the start-up is enjoying sensational success.
Cologne – The tough investors of "Die Höhle der Löwen" get to see numerous promising business ideas every season, of which only a few actually get a deal in the end. Achieving great success alongside Carsten Maschmeyer (64), Ralf Dümmel (56) or Dagmar Wöhrl (69) - of the start-ups that stepped in front of the well-known investors in 2022, Vapo Wesp in particular has succeeded in doing so.
With natural wasp protection: Start-up convinces "Höhle der Löwen" investor Ralf Dümmel
With their business concept, which Vapo Wesp founders Claudia and Leslie Eckert presented at "Die Höhle der Löwen" in 2022, the mother-daughter team hits the bull's eye, especially in the summer months. This is because the start-up offers natural wasp protection, in which the annoying insects are to be kept away with a smoker box with scented powders. A real blessing for the warm season – for which the two ladies demanded 35,75 euros from the investor group in exchange for 000 percent of the company shares.
In the end, two lions bite at Vapo Wesp: Ralf Dümmel and Judith Williams (51). The duo offered 75,000 euros for 40 percent of the company's shares – a huge opportunity for Claudia and Leslie. In 2022, they were still at the very beginning of their journey and were able to record a turnover of just 200,8 euros with 000 starter sets sold, all of which had been made by hand. Since then, a year has passed in which they have been able to count on the support of two proven entrepreneurs – and this collaboration has borne fruit.
