Rail passengers can plan a train ride at least for the coming days. Because the railway union EVG and the railway group want to continue their collective bargaining from next Monday.
Berlin - In the current wage dispute at the railway, no warning strikes are to be expected in the current week. Deutsche Bahn and the railway and transport union EVG want to negotiate a solution again from 12 June, as both sides announced on Monday evening after a vote.
"Today, the negotiators of DB and EVG met in Frankfurt for a consultation. The confidential conversation was constructive," said the railway and the railway and transport union EVG. The planned meeting on June 12 is expected to take place in Berlin.
The union is currently negotiating with Deutsche Bahn and dozens of other railway companies for higher wages and salaries for a total of around 230,000 workers. The focus is on negotiations with DB, where a good 180,000 of these employees work.
The union demands a fixed amount of at least 650 euros per month from employers, more or twelve percent for the upper wage groups. According to their ideas, the term should be twelve months.
In negotiations at the end of May in Fulda, the railway had promised a gradual twelve percent increase in the lower wage groups. A total of ten percent more is to be given to the middle groups and eight percent to the upper ones. The first stage of increase is expected to come this year. In addition, there is also a gradual inflation compensation premium totaling 2850 euros, which could be paid tax-free and duty-free from this July. The term is to be 24 months.
