A 22-year-old man was found dead in a car returned to Reims on Sunday night, Le Figaro learned from a source close to the case, confirming information from RMC.
According to this source, a chase began between two cars circulating in the city around 23 p.m. The pursued vehicle was shot several times, before being violently hit by the vehicle that fired the shots. Its occupants fled, leaving the victim to succumb to his injuries.
Contacted by Le Figaro, the Reims prosecutor's office said that an investigation had been opened for "murder" and entrusted to the judicial police of Reims. An autopsy is expected to be performed soon, as the cause of death of the victim has not been confirmed.
