Francisco Cerúndolo and Tomás Martín Etcheverry, the two Argentines who survive at Roland Garros, play this Monday on the Suzanne Lenglen court for the ninth day of the tournament in search of a place among the eight best of the second Grand Slam of the season.
Cerúndolo (23) will be the first to jump on the court when he faces the Danish ascendant Holger Rune (6). He will do it around 8.30 in the second turn after the duel between the Spanish Sara Sorribes Tormo and the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (14).
On the other hand, Etcheverry will only play in the last turn with the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (27) once the match between the Polish Iga Swiatek (1) and the Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko ends.
The great attraction of the day, beyond the presence of Etcheverry and Cerúndolo, will be the presence of the German Alexander Zverev who will face his third consecutive match in night session at the Phillipe Chatrier, the central court of the complex located in Bois de Boulogne.
After beating Molkan in the second round and Tiafoe in the third, Zverev will try to prevail against Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov to advance to the quarterfinals, in the same scenario where he sprained his ankle in the semifinals last year against Rafael Nadal.
Tunisia's Ons Jabeur opened the day on Philippe Chatrier with a quick 6-3, 6-1 win over American Bernarda Pera after 1:03 of action. And now follows the duel between the Norwegian Casper Ruud, finalist of 2022, and the Chilean Nicolás Jarry.
