The action alliance "Pro Krankenhaus Schongau" had called for another demonstration, 250 citizens gathered in the old town. The call from Schongau to preserve the house can now be heard loud and wide.

Schongau – Frieda Mödl and Luise Hübsch are two familiar faces at the Historic Market. There they sit behind their spinning wheels and show old folk art. On this day, they are present next to the parish church. They spin the red thread that accompanies us throughout our lives. From beginning to end, from birth to death. The hope is that the thread will not break. "That could happen if the hospital closes," she said.

It is not a silent demonstration on this Saturday afternoon - the speakers also want to be heard in Munich and Berlin

It's not a silent demonstration on this Saturday afternoon. Speakers have announced themselves who speak from the soul of the people. They speak plainly without bending. Stefan Konrad from the Action Alliance Pro Hospital Schongau recalls the motto of the demonstration: "My signature for our hospital." For this purpose, a poster is laid out on which all visitors are supposed to express their solidarity with their signature. "We will later put up the banner in such a way that our superiors are always reminded that we want to keep our hospital," says the tireless motor Konrad.

The round of speakers will be opened by Schongau's mayor Falk Sluyterman

The round of speakers will be opened by Mayor Falk Sluyterman. "We want decent emergency care in the western county," Sluyterman said. In doing so, he lists the ideal conditions that speak for the location: The nursing school with an excellent reputation, a generous expansion area in public hands, rail connections, and also an ideal helicopter landing pad with the shortest route to the operating room. "Above all, we want more transparency," Sluyterman demanded to great applause. He is grateful that other district municipalities have also joined the ranks. "I hope that many elected representatives of the western district will sign here," said Sluyterman.

Schongau's honorary citizen Fritz Holzhey also takes the microphone. For him, it is much more than a matter of the heart to work for the Schongau hospital. He is very worried that the house will be downgraded to Level 1i. "That wouldn't even ensure emergency medical care and would ultimately mean closure," Holzhey fears. It is now important to think about the Schongau staff, who should be shown a secure perspective for the future. "The gradual dismantling must stop immediately." Holzhey makes it clear: "I share the criticism of the work of Managing Director Thomas Lippmann and am still convinced that he will not be able to meet the demands of the referendum." And in the direction of the district council, Holzhey demands that the determination for Schongau at level 1n plus maternity ward be decided and enforced. "And if you put up with the unspeakable contract extension for Mr. Lippmann being put in front of your nose, then at least give him a clear mandate now!"

Heinrich Forstner questions whether the supervisory boards are even aware of their mandates

Heinrich Forster is the next speaker: "Do the supervisory boards actually know what their mandates are?" He asks to give honest information. "What is being played there is a disaster," says Forster. He calls on citizens to stick together and "blow a march on them". Clear words without frills.

Citizens in Germany should wake up

In a duet, Regina Haugg and Sieglinde Schuster recall the district administrator's promise at her swearing-in ceremony to stand up for all citizens. Also for those from the western county.
