Between "shame" and "regret", the trial of three women accused of kidnapping, beating and prostituting a 15-year-old girl in 2014, and three men accused of raping her, opened on Monday, June 5 before the Assize Court in Nanterre.

It's a shame what we did, it's horrible," said Wendy H., 31 today, crying at the bar and wiping her eyes with a handkerchief. When the young woman, jacket and black pants, evokes a "stupidity", the lawyer of the victim, Me Clément Diakonoff, takes it back: "It is not a stupidity, a stupidity, it is for the children.

'Barbaric acts'

For three days in April 2014, Danaé K., Wendy H. and Christel W., aged 21, 22 and 43, were accused of having held the victim in an apartment in Meudon (Hauts-de-Seine), forcing him at gunpoint to have sex with men contacted for this purpose. The three women are on trial for kidnapping "with torture or barbaric acts", complicity in rape and procuring, alongside three men tried for rape. All appear free under judicial supervision.

In court, four photos extracted from the phone of one of the accused were projected, showing the victim lying on the ground, a stocking pressed into his mouth, or kneeling in front of a man, in a soubrette apron. Earlier in the day, a photo of the victim at the time of the facts had been shown, youthful face framed by red hair.

According to the investigation, the teenager from Seine-Maritime had joined during a runaway former friends, Wendy H. and Danaé K., in the Paris region. She said she had argued with them in the past over a "boy story." In a bar, the three defendants, according to the prosecution, pushed her to kiss Mahfoudh M., aged 32 at the time of the facts, before, once returned to Christel W.'s home, forcing her to have sex with him. Mouloud B., 23 years old at the time, admitted to having paid the accused "100 euros", saying to investigators that the girl was consenting and that he thought she was of age. Raymond A., 37 years old at the time, denies the charges against him.

'Misuse of justice'

Nine years after the facts, "the discussions are no longer imbued with reality," regretted this Monday the lawyer of Wendy H., Me Mourad Battikh, who denounces an "unreasonable delay" and a "misuse of justice". "My client today expresses a lot of regret, she has made progress on many things. She now lives far from the Paris region, receives care, "had explained to AFP before the hearing Me Quentin Dekimpe, lawyer of Christel W. Danaé K. recognizes for his part some of the facts of violence but denies having taken part in the kidnapping and prostitution of the teenager. "There was an overflow, an increase in pressure," says his lawyer, Me Frédéric Beaufils, who portrays his client as a young woman suffering from "psychiatric difficulties" and having been "afraid" of Wendy H.

The three accused had explained during the investigation that the paid sex had been initiated in order to reimburse the cost of a locksmith, called according to them by the fault of the victim. This Monday in court, an investigator explained that the police had been alerted by an acquaintance of the victim, to whom one of the accused had told on the phone to plan to "turn" the teenager "in cellars". The victim suffered, after three days of sequestration, from edema on the face, a wound on the eardrum, bruises on the arms and buttocks and gynecological lesions. The verdict is expected on June 9.
