In connection with the left-wing autonomous riots on "Day X" in Leipzig, ten men have been taken into custody. They are accused of serious breach of the peace, assaults on law enforcement officers and attempted dangerous bodily harm, as the spokesman for the Leipzig public prosecutor's office, Ricardo Schulz, said on Monday.
Five men between the ages of 20 and 32 are said to have participated in the riots on Friday evening. Stones and pyrotechnics were thrown at police officers in the Connewitz district. In addition, numerous barricades were set on fire.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the other crimes occurred on Saturday, the actual "Day X". Two 36 and 33-year-old men are charged with throwing stones and bottles at officers. The three other suspects, aged 24, 25 and 34, are accused of serious breach of the peace.
According to the prosecutor's office, arrest warrants were issued against two other suspects. However, they had been suspended subject to conditions. Dpa
