The crisis in Together for Change deepens and Larreta's attempt to add Schiaretti and Espert does not advance

Highlights: Monday's meeting ended abruptly and without agreement. "We haven't solved anything we came here to solve," the radical admitted. "The rules of the game are already defined. Those who are are.... Let's not do what our adversaries want us to do, which is to generate confusion," Lopez Murphy had said in the room on the ground floor. "Unless we have made the commitment to rethink and rediscuss the incorporation of Schiaretti, we have to be upset," said the head of the PRO.

Monday's meeting ended abruptly and without agreement. Is there a risk of fracture?

In the spacious hall of the National Committee of the UCR was prepared the table for the press conference, with four chairs and microphones, one for each president of the four parties of Together for Change. Maximiliano Ferraro, of the Civic Coalition and the first to come down from the third floor, went straight to Alsina Street. Federico Angelini, head of the PRO and target of the attacks of the rest for rejecting the additions of Juan Schiaretti and José Luis Espert, spoke while walking to a subway station on Rivadavia Avenue. "We're going to take some time," Miguel Pichetto said as he passed. Only Gerardo Morales sat at the table. "We haven't solved anything we came here to solve," the radical admitted.

The meeting had started discussed from the presences. A while before the scheduled time, Luis Juez, the candidate for governor of Together for Change in Córdoba, appeared enraged by the discussion around Schiaretti, less than three weeks before the elections in which he will face the Peronist Martín Llaryora, the governor's dolphin.

"I came by car, I'm losing a full day of campaigning," he took his toll. At first they made him wait in a separate office, then he laid out his rationale against the agreement. "I had to come and speak my mind. The decision to incorporate Schiaretti generates a situation of tremendous discomfort," Judge said as he left, hurried to return by plane to Córdoba.

"It became clear that we are not going to tolerate it. When you do things that you cannot explain, people look at you with a funny face," warned the senator, who on Tuesday will be shown with Mauricio Macri at the Stock Exchange.

Of close relationship with Schiaretti and tension with Judge, the former president in this case was on the side of the candidate for governor of Together for Change in the rejection of the confluence with a sector of Peronism, promoted by Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and three of the presidents who at the meeting pushed in that sense: Morales, Ferraro and Pichetto.

Angelini, aligned with Macri and Patricia Bullrich, managed to block it in a meeting with moments of great tension. Also without prior notice, Ricardo Lopez Murphy and Alberto Asseff arrived at the Committee, both against the entry of Schiaretti. "I asked them to leave, because they were invited by Patricia," Morales said.

"The rules of the game are already defined. Those who are are. Let's not do what our adversaries want us to do, which is to generate confusion," Lopez Murphy had said in the room on the ground floor, which has become a catwalk of opposing positions.

Debate for all allies

Blocked the resolution of the conflict by the slogan that the extensions must have the unanimity of the members of the space, the president of the radicalism proposed to debate a change of rules and that it be defined by majority. "It's not fair that one locks everything. With that criterion, I do not agree with Lopez Murphy being there. So let's review that too," Morales threatened.

"What's the reason why Espert doesn't come in? What doesn't suit Patricia? Why Rolo Figueroa in Neuquén yes, or socialism in Santa Fe, and Schiaretti not?" In the case of Espert, Rodríguez Larreta promotes him as a pre-candidate for president to attract a portion of votes from Javier Milei and Bullrich rejects it as a maneuver to harm her in the PASO.

"From the PRO we are not in favor of incorporation. We have a commitment to our electorate to show clarity where we want Together for Change to go," Angelini argued as he left.

The head of the party replacing Bullrich rejected an eventual call to the PRO Assembly. According to his position, to advance in the expansion will be necessary his signature as president and that of Eduardo Macchiavelli, general secretary, of the sector of Rodríguez Larreta. That is to say that without the endorsement of Bullrich's sector, the agreement would not prosper. "Unless they want to leave the PRO out," Angelini warned at one point.

"Judge is right to be upset, we have made the commitment to rethink and rediscuss the incorporation of Schiaretti," Morales said when announcing that the meeting had foundered with an "intermediate room" without a resumption date.

"This intern between Patricia and Horacio for three months has had us on a plateau and in decline to Together for Change. That puts us at risk that Milei could have an outcome that would take him to the presidency, which would be catastrophic for the country. We have to expand and be generous," insisted the president of the UCR with his position coinciding with Rodríguez Larreta.

In another reflection of the inmate's outrage, Morales accused Bullrich of the presence of four women with the sign "We do not want Skiaretti" (sic) on the sidewalk of the Committee: "I hope that Patricia repudiates it, which is the one who commands the people." At the moment the referents avoid talking about the risk of a fracture. "I'm not a traumatologist," Juez appealed to humor to muddle through.
