Finally, Cristina Kirchner was dismissed by federal judge Sebastián Casanello in the case known as the K Money Route. The resolution was signed after the request of prosecutor Guillermo Marijuan that was validated by two government agencies, the AFIP and the Financial Information Unit (UIF).

Considering that there were not enough elements to sustain the accusation of money laundering against the vice president, Judge Casanello signed his dismissal leaving her out of the investigation that focused on the laundering maneuver of 55 million dollars, and that had as main accused Lázaro Báez.

In his opinion ten days ago, Marijuan had maintained that he did not have the necessary elements "to determine and establish his possible co-authorship (of Cristina Kirchner) or participation in that concrete and punctual money laundering maneuver", In this section of the file is investigated "the possible link of the former President of the Nation Cristina Elisabet Fernández de Kirchner with the main maneuver, illicit movement of funds and laundering thereof" headed by Báez.

Under this approach, the investigation into the vice president focused on the link with the accused and convicted and, in particular, with Lázaro Báez, to establish whether she also participated or benefited from the illegal maneuvers analyzed in this case.

It is precisely that connection that the prosecution said it failed to prove. Therefore, Marijuan asked the judge to exempt Cristina Kirchner from the accusations that fell on her.

"Even with the clarity of that link between Lázaro Báez and Cristina Fernández, having passed more than ten years since the beginning of this criminal process and almost five years since the investigative statement of the named in the framework of this file, I have not been able to gather evidence that leads me to move beyond the state of suspicion and advance to another procedural stage such as the trial," admitted in its controversial opinion.

Judge Sebastián Casanello has now ruled on this proposal, after also hearing the opinion of the complaints in this case: the UIF and the AFIP. Both government agencies endorsed the request of prosecutor Marijuan and requested that the vice president be dismissed.
