The President said this during the presentation of the National Integrity and Transparency Roundtable.

In a speech focused on corruption, President Alberto Fernández made a strong defense of the transparency of his government with a phrase with ambiguous addressee.

"The day I leave the government I will send my affidavit of assets to all the newspapers. I want everyone to see that there is a president and many officials of my administration who go home just as they did when they arrived. We do not enrich our families, we are not friends of businessmen, we do not deliver works to our friends, we did not do any of that," he said.

Fernández insisted on the idea that, as he said, he maintained from the beginning of his mandate and points to an "efficient State" in which "there is no room for corruption."

"At the end of my term I will talk about something I said from day one: the need to have an efficient state. There is no room for corruption; it is not something tolerable; it is something absolutely intolerable," the president emphasized in a speech within the framework of the presentation of the National Table of Integrity and Transparency, a space for articulating policies related to ethics in the National Public Administration.

In the same sense, he stated that "we must end the vices of Argentine society in general and that appear in the public administration managing public resources," and called for "being inflexible and ending that."

"Corruption is always paid for. One that gets corrupted, splashes us all," he warned.

The head of state was accompanied at the event by the Chief of Cabinet, Agustín Rossi; the head of the Anticorruption Office, Verónica Gómez; the head of the Agency for Access to Public Information, Beatriz de Anchorena; the General Syndic of the Nation, Carlos Montero and the Secretary of Management and Public Employment, Ana Castellani.

The National Integrity and Transparency Board is an inter-institutional space to coordinate strategies for assistance, monitoring and evaluation of public policies. It was created in June 2021 and aims to provide a dimension of transparency to management.
