Falco's grave in Vienna's Central Cemetery was defiled. Fans in Austria are and complain about the possible vandals.
Update from June 5, 18:26 p.m.: In Austria, the attack on Falco's grave has provoked a huge outcry. The news portal oe24.at speaks of the "glue of shame" and "crackhouse.tv" has deleted all comments under the Instagram post with the sticker.
No surprise: because the station was met with pure rage. Oe24.at had already collected some comments before they went offline again. Users wrote:
- "Shame on you! Zero respect, zero decency, irreverent to the power of ten."
- "You should be ashamed of yourselves."
- "Wtf? This is a resting place. How irreverent? Remove it immediately!"

In the meantime, the glue is no longer on the gravestone, the portal claims to have learned. A cemetery employee checked at noon and Falco's resting place was clean. It is not known who removed the sticker. The cemetery supervisor was not.
First report from 5 June, 17.15 p.m.: Vienna – The grave of Austrian music legend Hans Hölzel, better known as Falco, at the Central Cemetery in Vienna has been defiled. As oe24.at had previously reported, a sticker with the emblem of "crackhouse.tv" is currently stuck to the glass shrine with a life-size black and white image of the late artist.

According to this, cemetery employees of "Cemeteries Vienna" would check how great the pollution was. As a rule, stickers or impurities would be removed by the employees. However, if it was a major pollution, a criminal complaint would be filed.

Falco, who died in a traffic accident in the Dominican Republic on February 6, 1998, was buried in the Central Cemetery in Vienna on February 14, 1998, in the presence of 4000,<> people, according to falco.net. Since then, the tomb has been a place of pilgrimage for thousands of his fans every year.

Desecration of graves is generally prohibited. Depending on the offense, disturbing the peace of the dead is a criminal offense both in Germany under Section 168 of the Criminal Code (StGB) and in Austria under Section 190 of the Criminal Code. In Germany, there is a risk of a fine or imprisonment of up to three years. In Austria, a prison sentence of up to six months or a fine of up to 360 daily rates is to be expected.
