Two complaints were filed in the past 24 hours with the Knesset Ethics Committee against MK Simon Davidson from Yesh Atid for acting in a conflict of interest to promote the business owned by his wife - without declaring it. This followed the Walla investigation.

The Movement for Quality Government and B'Tselem asked the committee to summon the Knesset member "to give an account of his conduct." The Movement for Quality Government wrote that "there is a grave concern that Davidson's involvement in promoting sports in the Knesset was ostensibly done in order to promote his personal interest and the good of the business owned by his wife, in contravention of the rule prohibiting him from being in a situation of conflict of interest."

It added that "a place where a Knesset member acts in a conflict of interest, constitutes a blatant breach of his duty of loyalty to the public as well as his duty to act in accordance with the principles of the rule of law recognized in our system."

A complaint on behalf of B'Tselem stated, "These are very serious violations of the ethics rules of Knesset members, including damage to the status of the Knesset. Here he acted to promote the welfare of his wife. This is a long and ongoing phenomenon and the committee must punish it very severely."
