A cyclist has strayed from the bike path in Upper Bavaria and collided with a truck. For the man, any help came too late, he died at the scene of the accident.

Fatal accident in Upper Bavaria: cyclist collides with truck in the district of Altötting
The accident occurred around 6.30 a.m. on state road 2107 in Gendorf/Burgkirchen at the level of Alte-Haupttor-Straße. According to initial findings, the cyclist (59) was on the left-hand sidewalk / cycle path in the direction of Gendorf. "For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the cyclist came off the bike path and collided with the oncoming truck," the police continued. Despite immediate braking, the truck driver was no longer able to prevent a collision. The cyclist from the district of Altötting was seriously injured, he died at the scene of the accident.
Now the police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. For this purpose, the Traunstein public prosecutor's office commissioned an accident analysis and accident technical report by an independent expert. There are currently no indications of misconduct on the part of the truck driver.
