Garmisch-Partenkirchen - A collision between a drunk cyclist and an 88-year-old pedestrian occurred on Monday morning (June 5) in the Klammstraße in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The woman had to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, the 60-year-old cyclist was on the footpath at the height of the Feneberg, where the 88-year-old passer-by came towards him. Due to the bottleneck that exists there at the construction site, the man lost control of his bike and headed straight for the elderly lady. This could no longer prevent a collision. She fell and seriously injured herself. The elderly woman suffered a femoral neck fracture and several abrasions and had to be taken by ambulance to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Hospital. Since the informed police officers perceived a strong smell of alcohol in the person who caused the accident, a breath test was carried out on him. The suspicion was confirmed: a value of just under one per thousand was displayed. The man is now being investigated for endangering road traffic, witnesses of the incident are asked to call the police station on 0 88 21/91 70.
