With the Railjet from Munich, Budapest can be reached in less than seven hours. The ALX takes about five and a half hours from Munich, and boarding in Landshut or Regensburg shortens the journey time. Places such as Peschiera and Desenzano del Garda are located away from the big cities, but have their own train station. First you take the Eurocity from Munich to Verona and then take the EC or regional train to the small holiday resorts - within less than six and a half hours.
