Major General Natan Bonza, head of the fencing division of the police responsible for crime in Arab society, informed Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai on Tuesday of his desire to retire from the organization. This is against the background of the wave of murders in Arab society, which has greatly increased over the past year.
Bonza, 60, a father of three from Rishon LeZion, who previously served as deputy commander of the Judea and Samaria district and commander of the Negev and Ayalon regions, is expected to leave in the coming months. He has been in the position for about a year and a half, since he retired from the position, Hakrush, who was filmed leaping over a murder victim and leaving the scene without doing anything.

Bonza joins a long list of extras who have left the police since Shabtai was appointed police commissioner. Just two weeks ago, the head of the planning division, Commissioner Danny Caribou, announced his desire to retire from the organization. This was after the police commissioner decided to expropriate the management of the police budget from him. According to police sources, he was excluded from the budget discussions for 2024-2023 in favor of Public Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who led them together with Shabtai.
Among the other retirees: David Bitan, who served as police commissioner, and commander of the northern district, Shimon Lavie, who retired following the Meron disaster. Some of the extras who retired did so after harsh criticism of Saturn. This is due to his apparent lack of leadership as a police commissioner who has been dealing since taking office with a crisis of public trust, a wave of abandonments by police officers and constant clashes between him and the senior command staff.
