In light of the success of the Population Authority's campaign, dubbed the "Passport Marathon," the activity of the bureaus in the large cities is expected to be extended by another two weeks. This will make it possible to reach the offices in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Be'er Sheva and Jerusalem and issue a passport without an appointment until the end of June.
Population Authority officials confirmed to Israel Hayom that the decision has already been made and is expected to be officially made today (Tuesday) or tomorrow.
Since the beginning of the campaign, on May 14, about 150,350 biometric passports have been issued. The Population Authority is interested in narrowing the gaps created in recent years, with some <>,<> Israelis having issued temporary passports in the past year and a half, and most of them are about to expire soon.

Some of the hours there are long lines at the offices that have opened in the big cities, the longest lines are recorded in Tel Aviv. The passports are issued within a few weeks and the authority's representatives at the bureaus promise that the passports will be ready up to two months from the moment of arrival at the bureau, in many cases they are ready even before.
