Holzkirchen/Warngau - Forces of the Holzkirchen police station carried out the already announced traffic checks on Monday with a focus on e-bikes/pedelecs and bicycles. "At various points in the service area, checks were carried out between 15 p.m. and 20 p.m.," the office said - including on the well-known bike routes around the Taubenberg, but also in Holzkirchen.
"In summary, it can be said that the two-wheelers behaved in a very exemplary manner," reports the police. In the area of the Taubenberg, there were no complaints, the cyclists drove without exception on the public cycle / forest paths, no illegal trails.
According to the police report, in the local area of Holzkirchen, among other things, the wheel protection strip in Münchner Straße was monitored. There, two car drivers were warned who parked their vehicle on the wheel lane. A total of six warnings were issued with requests for payment. Two cyclists received a warning because they used the sidewalk, and two pedestrians who crossed the main roads in Tölzer and Münchner Straße at red lights had to be complained about.
Around 18:20 p.m., a 35-year-old man from Holzkirchen, who was using the sidewalk and cycle path with his e-skateboard, was checked at the Ladehof, police reported. The officers found that the man was using a handheld remote control to steer his vehicle. There is no road traffic permit for this type of skateboard. The vehicle was seized and criminal proceedings were initiated against the Holzkirchner for a violation under the Compulsory Insurance Act and the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.
Overall, the controls were met with a positive echo of the two-wheelers, the police said. "The officers were able to have numerous, informative and advisory discussions with the road users." The Holzkirchen police will repeat the focus operation in the coming weeks.
