A European intelligence agency has informed the CIA that it is aware of a plan by Ukraine's special forces to blow up the Nord Stream gas pipeline three months before the underwater system was damaged in a series last year, The Washington Post
reported Tuesday. The newspaper noted Tuesday that it cited intelligence information that was part of classified documents leaked this year by a computer technician in the U.S. National Guard. who gained access to many classified materials that found their way online.
The leaked documents indicated that an unnamed European intelligence agency revealed to the U.S. intelligence service in June 2022 — four months after Russia invaded Ukraine — that a Ukrainian diver force under the direct command of the country's military commander was planning to damage the pipelines.
