2023-06-06T15:11:27.472Z

Highlights: The number of overnight stays has risen significantly again. 20 percent of the guests are young people. The hikes and especially the evening hikes have become the "hit" of the event program. The Lenggries website received 1.3 million hits last year. The highest number of 303,938 overnight stays in 2019 was almost reached. There will be a historic rafting festival in June and a paragliding festival at the end of July. The new edition of the host directory for 2024 will be released.

The Lenggries Tourist Information draws a positive balance: The number of overnight stays has risen significantly again. Also nice: 20 percent of the guests are young people.

Lenggries – "Thank God we were able to record a very good increase in overnight stays and approach the record number of 2019." This is what Maria Bader said at the opening of the tourism and host meeting in Lenggries' "Alpenfestsaal". Before the head of the Lenggries Tourist Information Office looked back, she was pleased to introduce Maria Gerg as a new colleague.

Guests come in large numbers - and stay longer

Then figures were presented: With 279,727 overnight stays last year, the highest number of 303,938 overnight stays in 2019 was almost reached. Bader: "The increase in length of stay from 3.5 to 5 days is also encouraging." 20 percent of the guests are young people – a good development for the head of the tourist information office: "Because if you've been here as a child, you often come back as an adult."

Lenggries' website recorded 1.3 million views

Of course, the upward trend is not a foregone conclusion. Many pieces of the mosaic contribute to this. "This includes our increasingly popular Guest Card Plus as well as the offer of online bookability or our event program." The Lenggries website received 1.3 million hits. "That's insanely good," said the head of the tourist information office enthusiastically. The hikes and especially the evening hikes have become the "hit" of the event program. "They're usually fully booked."

Two major events in June and July

Bader announced a new edition of the host directory for 2024. With regard to the citizen survey on tourism acceptance in October last year and the subsequent ideas workshop, she assured: "The results and suggestions made are guaranteed not to end up in a drawer. Rather, we want to work with it and find solutions."

At the end of the meeting, two major events were pointed out. First of all, on Saturday, June 17, there will be a historic rafting festival. At the end of July, "Fun & Fly – The Outdoor & Paragliding Festival" will follow.

This was followed by the introduction of "eCoach" Holger Lortz. As an ambassador on site, he is happy to assist landlords with all digital issues.
