Ex-DSDS candidate Joey Heindle trained as a paramedic in 2021. But that was not enough for him, as is now becoming known. He has also gained experience with the fire brigade.
Leipzig – Joey Heindle (30) surprised everyone in 2021 when he announced that he had completed training as a paramedic with the German Red Cross. "I have now taken advantage of the Corona period. I think it's just great to help people," he told the "Bild" newspaper at the time. But apparently that wasn't enough for him, as he has now revealed in an interview. The singer also tried his hand at the fire brigade.
Joey Heindle: "I'm glad I have this training in my pocket"
Joey Heindle spoke to "Meine Schlagerwelt" about his work as a paramedic. He is proud of it, "I have to say honestly". He didn't want to miss it. "I'm glad I have this training in my pocket." No one can take it away from him, "and it will accompany me for the rest of my life," says the DSDS star. Although he can't devote much time to his work as a paramedic, he is still on the road from time to time. "This year I rode on the ambulance, three shifts. That's what I did on a voluntary basis," said the DSDS star.
He always tries to keep at it, but it wouldn't work full-time. "But if people really need me, then I'm at the start." He also does further training so that he stays up to date. But Heindle has not only built up a foothold with the paramedics, the 30-year-old has also gained experience in the professional fire brigade after his training. "At the plant fire brigade at Europa-Park. It was a great time." He learned a lot there and "had great comrades".
