Highlights: Gabriel Attal dropped his glass of water on an official of the Palais Bourbon. He immediately apologized: "Sorry, I got excited." He was speaking during the examination of the state accounts of 2021 and 2022. Justifying his big moves, the minister quipped: "When I talk about the middle classes, I get carried away" "You have balanced the money from the taxes of the working and middle classes with the same negligence and the same casualness with which you spilled just now your glass," he said.

The Minister of Public Accounts made a remarkable mistake this morning in the gallery of the National Assembly.

A movement of arm poorly evaluated by the minister caused a small accident, during a speech at the rostrum of the Assembly, in a sequence reported by BFMTV. Gabriel Attal dropped his glass of water on an official of the Palais Bourbon. He immediately apologized: "Sorry, I got excited."

He was speaking during the examination of the state accounts of 2021 and 2022, in a speech accompanied by movements of arms, until causing the fall of his glass of water.

"When I talk about the middle classes I get excited"

After expressing his embarrassment, he reacted quickly: "Sorry, I got excited and it dropped the glass." Naïma Moutchou (Horizons), vice-president of the National Assembly, humorously relativized "It refreshes". Justifying his big moves, the minister quipped: "When I talk about the middle classes, I get carried away."

This sequence did not escape the rebellious deputy David Guiraud, who did not fail to take up the image on his own account by speaking after the minister: "You have balanced the money from the taxes of the working and middle classes with the same negligence and the same casualness with which you spilled just now your glass of water", he said.
